Leaving Town for Christmas

Jefferson Berry

Leaving Town for Christmas

On a Plane that’s taking us Home

Going there cause they miss us

And said so on the telephone

After All the Rush and Fuss

This week really was too much

I had to tell the Boss

I had surely done enough, to be

Leaving Town for Christmas

With a connection in DFW

I’d love more time in Texas

But that would mean spending

much less time with you

And in all the Rush and Fuss

The Stores try to make a buck

And all the cars are stuck

Trying to get home for Christmas

And in all the Rush and Fuss

The Stores try to make a buck

And all the cars are stuck

Dreaming of a White Christmas

With all the Rush and Fuss

Doing only what we must

Leave all the rest to rust

Because, Because, Because

We’re Leaving Town for Christmas

To See old Friends and the family

There’ll be lots of hugs and kisses

And gifts under the Christmas Tree
